Both my parents are teachers. Perhaps that’s why I’m so inclined to head to the white board to scratch out some crude infographics every time an artist asks me about how royalties work. Or perhaps it’s because the concept and structure of music industry royalties it’s so convoluted, I gotta draw a bunch of arrows jutting to and fro pie and flow charts.
